AEP \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Empresial de Penafiel – a Business Association, a non-profit organization founded in 1892 that holds
thestatus of Public Utility Institution (March 3, 1993) and the Gold Medal of the Municipality of Penafiel (1993).
The main aim of the association is to represent and defend the interests of the business, taking into account its technical,
economic, social progress and prepare citizens with skills to face the difficult labour world. AEP is an accredited training
institution for vocational training since 1998, currently being certified in 22 areas of Education and Training and has taken a
very active intervention in development of vocational training. At the moment, AEP has 25 employees (from several fields),
42 trainers\/teachers and 438 students.<\/p>\n

AEP has had several professional courses of electronic and mechatronic. Its teachers and students are following the lineof
STEM. They also had several professional courses of ICT, health care and community support that developed skills related
to social media, entrepreneurship and collaborative work.
There are many interfaces with sustainability y and they worked these themes using ICT tools with the aim to develop new
ways of living and new jobs.
As a training centre, their mission is to prepare students to the future jobs to achieve the goals and tasks which are assigned
in a modern school to serve a modern world, matching VET training with employment.
The institution host Erasmus students and has apply for acreditation in Erasmus and has been parter in different KA2
actions in VET.
AEP is has been certified on the ISO 9001:2015 in march of 2020 and has a big compromise on incorporating the process
of internationalization in the acreditation.<\/p>\n
